Hey there, it’s coach Colin! Thanks for visiting BPM Fitness. I’d love for you to introduce yourself and join us for a FREE class.

In the meantime, since we’re all about growing community, let’s not be total strangers and get to know one another:

My journey toward better health over the past 14 years has been threefold: I am passionate about wellness and well-being, I believe that the expression of human movement is a powerful tool for healing, and I acknowledge how fitness is a means of moving oneself to challenge the body, mind, soul, and emotions.

You might be able to relate to the start of my journey if you’ve ever viewed exercise as a way to cope with life’s stresses and pressures.

I started my own journey into health and fitness in my adolescent years to help cope with the stresses of bullies, low self-esteem, and negative body image. I’ve been fascinated with human movement ever since.

The story of my health transformation begins in my mid twenties. I was a young entrepreneur dealing with the stress and excitement of two thriving businesses, a restaurant, and a nightclub. The restaurant and club industry led me to a lifestyle that involved late nights, poor food choices, and frequent alcohol consumption. In the beginning, I had no trouble keeping up with this lifestyle because I was young and had a great amount of resiliency. As the years passed, I began to see the effects of my late nights, and my food and activity choices. I lost control over my cravings, and I began to see a shift in my energy levels. I had low energy, low libido, and a low immunity to illness. I had acne, allergies, and frequent sinus and respiratory health issues. I had chronic piriformis syndrome for 2 years. I was taking various strong medications for these ailments including Accutane, Advil, and antibiotics.

These medications combined with chronically high cortisol levels caused leaky gut syndrome, which led to food sensitivities, allergies, and a low immune system. These ailments, along with a significant weight gain over time, motivated me to make some changes.

My passion to support others in feeling good about themselves has always been a driving factor in my life. My background supporting women as a certified Birth Doula and BPM Fitness trained Group Fitness instructor has lead me to combine my two passions and become a trained Prenatal and Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist.

Being a wife and mother of four, running a small Spanish school with my husband, and coaching group fitness, I know firsthand how busy life can get. But, I also know that if you are not taking care of yourself, it’s challenging to fully care for anyone else. I encourage others, and especially other mothers, to make their health and happiness a priority.

I first began my journey of mind-body connection through the practice of yoga. From this practice, I came to understand that we all crave movement and expression of the body, no matter our physical state. This, I believe, you can accomplish by surrendering to the unknown—all while still having fun.

I completed my first yoga teacher training in Costa Rica (200 RYT) in 2011. Wanting to marry my love of travel and passion for teaching, I took my practice to Europe and the United Kingdom, where I taught for 3 years before returning back to Canada. In Croatia, I began studying for my second yoga Teacher Training (500 RYT).
